Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

Do you know only 35% of granted RSUs get vested. What does this mean to employees?

The new CEO and management giving an impression that they grant a lot more RSUs to employees compare to the industry .

The shocking fact is only 35% of all granted RSUs get vested. Which means many engineers get laid off or do not stay.

Your RSUs vest yearly and gives him

Enough time to decide what to do with you if your line of business does not create huge profit margin

But the difference between the two is that the new CEO knows that he will layoff many before their RSUs get vested

Amazon are well known for this. They give very large equity grants, but they have a long vest (2 years initially before you get any cash) as they know a lot of people will leave in the first 2 years anyway.
