Now, Everyone Get Back to Work

All, instead of spending precious hours on here making wild claims, trashing Avid and calling names get back to work. Focus on day job, get your personal finances in order, pimp up your resume, and understand what's happening in the industry.

We have been blessed to be immune to the struggles of many other industries and now it is our turn. Hopefully you have saved you money and have developed skills to make yor self marketable. Posting on here will not change the outcome.

OK, get back to work like now...

That's right people, back to work. And don't forget to vote for Trump!

I went from making 600,000 my first year at Avid and make 6.4 mil now. My buddy JF made 4.2 mil last year. Avid is doing great, just like we are!

What you describe as "What's happening in the industry" is ONLY happening at Avid, due to idiotic management. I went from working at Avid for over a decade to consulting with various pro audio companies around the world, and let me tell you, business is booming in nearly every sector I've had contact with. The audio companies that make up my client base are full of brilliant people (management included!) with vision and passion, and they give me more freedom (and much higher pay) than I ever enjoyed while I was hanging onto scraps of Avid hope by my fingernails.

Avid (Tewks) was always a terrible godzilla of a parent company with no love or care for their users and only the most cursory interest in their own products (at least within e-staff). Digi/Avid Audio stood as the one consistently profitable and innovative group in the grand morass for the majority of the past 15 years, and yet always got the bad end of the stick. Avid Video cocks up a new product launch and the stock tanks again? Time to fire some visionaries and mensches in Audio!

immune? wtf are you talking about? 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012 and now 2016. Sorry for venting here, but I have to keep the record straight. But fully agree on other points. My resumes are polished and on their ways to our ex-colleagues for starters. Even our offshore team members are beginning to jump ship. The irony.

I joined Avid in 2006 and left in 2014. The entire time there were layoffs, market share loss, poor leadership with Greenfield and Hernandez, and poor employee moral.

It has been Avid's turn for 10 years now!
