Re:

2016 Salary Planning Process and New Travel Approval Requirements

As you are aware, the energy market continues to decline, which is having a significant impact on our industry as our customers scale back operations and capital spend even further for 2016. In 2015, we saved close to $100 million in non-employee SG with a preferred booking timeline of 14 days to help ensure lower rates.

  1. Travel Purpose: All Cameron and OneSubsea employees are asked to be very diligent in determining any needs for travel. Travel approvals should be limited to revenue-generating, cost-reduction and critical management activities. All discretionary travel must be restricted.

Cameron and OneSubsea employees are encouraged to continue exploring alternatives to physical travel, such as teleconferencing.

Please make your teams aware of these updates as soon as possible. These actions will help continue the ELT’s focus on minimizing any reduction in force. Your leadership in supporting these efforts is expected and appreciated.

Thank you for your continued commitment to Cameron and OneSubsea during these challenging times.

We will continue to seek opportunities to keep costs down, and as such, the ELT is taking similar actions in 2016:

Delay in Salary Planning Process

The ELT has made the decision to delay the 2016 salary planning process (merit increases) from April 1. The ELT will continue to monitor the current market conditions and determine if/when to do merit increases for 2016. We will advise on any updates over the next few months. We have developed a Manager Q&A document to provide leaders with more information and help guide conversations with employees.

Promotions & Salary Increases

When we announced the delay in merit/salary planning in 2015, HR received a sharp increase in requests for off-cycle salary increases. While we continue to focus on retaining top talent and rewarding strong performance, as leaders we must also be mindful of the current market conditions and take this into serious consideration in nominating any employee for a salary increase or promotion. As such, any promotions or salary increases affecting Grade 26 and above require approval by your Division President or Function executive leader and me.
