After their quarterly loss DuPont is looking to cut its costs by $730 million through global layoffs . Both DuPont and Dow Chemical are trying to make an organization more efficient ahead of a merger that will create a company with an estimated combined market value of about $95 billion, including a planned 10% reduction in its workforce. Therefore they will cut 1,700 jobs in its home state of Delaware and thousands more globally. The company has approximately 54,000 employees that will affect about 10 percent of that employees.
