I don't think this one is Dell's fault. It's Microsoft: by giving Hyper-V away for free, Microsoft has seriously undercut VMWare's market position. While I think VMWare workstation is a better product, VMWare itself is not doing a good job of making people understand why they'd want to pay $200 for a desktop hypervisor, rather than use the free one that comes with Windows.
I use VMWare Workstation every day, and I'd hate to have to shift to Hyper-V and lose out on the desktop integration features I have been relying on for the last eight years.
