Women have been leaving VMW in droves. Looking back, we feel pretty smart about it. Pat did NOTHING for women at VMW except make useless committees that do nothing. All the women I know that have left are much, much happier than when they were at VMW. I won't miss the lack of promotions, the crappy raises, getting suck job opportunities, getting screwed over at reviews, and the general patronizing and condescending attitudes of male indian engineers raised like little emperors to believe they're the saviors of the universe and the product.

Possible future with a good company.
We still have lot to achieve with VMware... Since PAT came on board - we are achieving our quarterly - yearly targets. Current Dell-EMC deal is a catalyst for current uncertainties. I hope that deal falls apart and we get spun off as a independent company. I am not impacted with current layoffs but also won't jump ship for

Other companies provide paycheck, paycheck and paycheck, too. You do not need to stay at VMware to get that. That is for sure.
