We still have lot to achieve with VMware... Since PAT came on board - we are achieving our quarterly - yearly targets. Current Dell-EMC deal is a catalyst for current uncertainties. I hope that deal falls apart and we get spun off as a independent company [RePOST]

Pat Gelsinger is an idiot with no vision what-so-ever. And that's why VMware will keep going down. This is far from the bottom.

We achieve our targets by lowering them at the beginning of each year and routinely employ revenue smoothing techniques to make Wall Street's numbers. We've made analysts' estimates every quarter since 2009. How do you do that without gaming the accounting? In January 2013, Chadwick was the new CFO and he reset guidance to easy-to-beat thresholds. He did the same thing in January 2015 but we missed the bookings # by Q3. We also did layoffs at both times. Here we are in January 2016 and another RiF is laid at our feet. I hope Michael Dell cleans these guys out and installs a group that can be honest about the company's challenges.
