After HP gobbled up EDS

Well, disappointment just landed in my lap. Just had a Superb review with a pay raise and get a call from my manager. I am being forced to retire. No one saw it coming he says. After HP bought EDS you could see the changes. Countless hours training overseas via conference calls. My husband said the writing was on the wall. What HP cannot see is once you train the overseas employees, they just jump ship and no one there, ever really understands the client needs. A lot of contracts to be lost! Once you get into your 50's, you are good as gone!

The original poster could have been a Canadian - there were small salary increases for some Canadian resources (and other countries outside of the US)

I have been at Compaq\HP since 1989, I got a 3% raise and 3% bonus this year...I am probably doomed

This doesn't pass the smell test.. namely receiving a raise. Apart from the one time year end 1-2% bonus, raises simply don't happen. Haven't for 5+ yrs now.

Is the original post from a HP badged employee...their paystub should relect the company name. EDS contract not all the employees are actual HP badged employees...alot are subcontractors who get let go due to US Governments needs/requirements or HP cutbacks. I have friends who are employed under EDS subcontractors...they do get paid good with raises. They thought they were HP employees due to their email address but paycheck shows a different company. I found that HP Inc is offering another early retirement pkg for 2016. Don't know if Hewlett Packard Enterprise will offer same or not..

This is an obvious lie, as no HP or HPE employees received a pay raise this year.

Very sad to be treated that way after being a loyal and hard working employee.
