Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

The company is mostly young and Indian now. If you are not one of those 2, then your out. Sounds like 2 different types of discrimination.

Is that even legal? No wonder there aren't many jobs left these days for American citizens.

Boy HCL is really racking it up here in the US. BD (Becton Dickinson) just replaced their IT department with HCL. Yea Washington, lets just keep upping those H1B caps so that more American workers can be out of a job!

Did I see in another thread HCL was brought in to replace IT with their workers? If so, check this Disney suit that's been filed. Sounds exactly like something Stapleswould do!

Fact check guy here. Never argued the age and potential limitations on actually discussing it and how it can backfire. The into a statement of all Indian and young was and is not fact based. That's my point

Yo "Fact Check" guy...now it's your turn. Lets check your facts... Anyone over 40 can potentially file an age discrimination lawsuit. When it's clear the only real difference between you and the other guy is age, if age was ever discussed in front of you, if anyone stated your age as a negative or brought it up in a discussion.

Lots of wrongful dismissal law suits are possible if these moments were documented by the effected person. Step two is to let HR know you feel you are being discriminated against. Sit back and watch the magic after that hehehe. Call a lawyer that handles these types of lawsuits. A real good one is located in Concord NH and oddly his last name is Staples... easy to remember :-)

When your position is "eliminated" at Staples, you are given a list of everyone's ages that were and were not affected in your department. Staples practice of keeping the oldest person, eliminating the next however many people, and keeping only those under 40 seems like age discrimination to me. They also hire temporary workers, many from other countries, so they do not have to provide benefits.

They reorganize a department, get rid of those with experience and hire people in their early 20s, fresh out of college. These practices really do not seem right.

Fact check. Anyone claiming racism or sexism is wrong. It's sour grapes and if an Indian is more educated and younger then tough. If your white and not as educated I wouldn't hire your dumbass either. Again. Facts are facts. It's all public knowledge

He/she might be a douche, however, so correct. It might be called a reverse discrimination. It truly is something that might cause courts to be flooded with discrimination suits. Racism is a horrible stain in human lives. No matter the direction.

your statement is completely racist and wrong. Take your bitching up to your white racist friends. I am not Indian nor young but a former sr level person at Staples and I can tell you this that what you are saying is done in complete cowardice and a lie. The balance of race, color and sex is very well balanced and is publicly available on Staples corporate responsibility website. Your a douche
