As much as I hate Staples for their sleazy HR practices and how they treat retail employees, bottom line I know retail is over extended and cuts need to be made. Close stores that are proven to be unprofitable, transfer those that want to or provide severance. Some stores can actually become profitable by ADDING payroll. The lack of help has driven many customers away, yet Staples just blames the GMs.
Stop the f---ing witch hunts and harassing good people to make them quit to avoid severance. People are getting sick from the stress.
Cutting commercial is just retarded. It drives customers away, just like it did in retail.
If execs can't see this they need to go. If you cut your foot off to appease shareholders it makes it that much harder to achieve the results to appease them next quarter and next FY.
