Also wondering what's the history of Layoffs with SE's. Been here for about a year but not sure how fragile SE's are during layoff time.

Nobody in Oklahoma was affected.
Channel SEs / specialist type roles are affected most in my 5+ years experience. If you are tied to a good performing region (and a core SE) your chances are pretty good to avoid a cut. I have been in the enterprise space so not sure about commercial. The good news is that core SEs are in demand.. Easy to find other jobs quickly in VMware and other companies...
