Thread regarding Broadcom Corp. layoffs

Notice in WARN

For a large layoff employers in CA are required to file a WARN with the state 60 days prior to the layoff. There is nothing listed here under Broadcom or Avago (link below). A large layoff is > 50 employees for a more than 75 person company.

The WARN not public yet after Mar. 31, because you still employ as Broadcom (Avago) company

WARN notices only need to be filed right before the 60 day WARN period, and closing must be certain or pretty certain before these notices go out. So you won't see them until ~1st Feb.

WARN notices can be found here, although they are not realtime

I think you will see this WARN notification only after 1st Feb. (Combined company).

the most up to date does not show one for broadcom, but there are 3 columns in the report, you can see many cases where the received date (when the company reported to warn) , is after the notice date, which means they probably gave notice but reported after the fact to WARN.

Some have already been given transition notices and some where given termination. It appears that it will actually occur after the merger is legally complete in early Feb.

It's because people who are out on day 1 have already been told and they are getting paid for 60 days which is their WARN notice so it's already in progress.

you can see in the report, that some report after the fact and some don't follow the 60 days notice to WARN.

That's because there hasn't been anything major. Just a bunch of trolls. San Diego hasn't made.anything public yet, and there has not been a massive layoffs.
