still waiting for mine it will be done this afternoon, first one I will have. So what can I expect? I guess they will tell me which goals I have to meet and which ones I need to work on?

The reviews are pretty much just a meaningless formality. Your raise, bonus, LTI's has already been predetermined. Anything above a "Fully Meets" rating are rarely given. One can have a good review and still get ushered out the door.
No, what it means is you have a lazy manager, that is failing to do their job. By waiting to give you your review so late questions like the one you have presented and then replies like the one you have been given surface and stick in your mind. You start asking questions and doubt starts to surface and your performance suffers. If cuts do come the first ones should be with managers like yours that have failed to engage and help their employees preform by failing to keep them in the loop, mentally stable, and giving them a sense that we are working for the company goals, and that your well being mean something to them. This is their primary function at Devon and there are no excuses. By waiting everyone in your group gets to wonder over the holidays if they are not preforming up to par. That is a great burden to carry around during the holiday. Someone should be kicking your managers ass right now.
