To post a comment like that, you must be Saudi. The company is over 90% Saudi. Of those, how many come in late, logon to their computers and then disappear for the day or sit and listen to their playlists with headphones all day? So many older Saudis just hang on waiting for a package while doing zero work. Expats do not cost that much. It is the GOSI that will bankrupt Saudi Aramco. I do agree that there are some older expats who contribute very little but that number is dwarfed by the over 50 YO Saudis. Things are relatively easy now. Once the oil stops coming out of the ground by itself Jedd Clampett, people will really have to work for a living, that os why the few expats there are remain. Saudi Aramco management knows this very well. As far as Downstream, that could easily change if the business strategy changes.

The reason it looks like the company is expat saturated is the same reason construction crews in Saud look expat saturated. There are actually 9:1 Saudis to expats on the payroll but 6:1 expats to Saudis doing work.
It really goes by department and level.
For example, in my office there are 20 people, only 4 of which are Saudi. If I were to expand that past our room doorway, it quickly moves towards 50% with Saudis filling non-technical administrative and managerial positions.
As far as the Saudi work habits go, it seems to be all or nothing. of the 4 in our office, 2 are excellent, highly regarded, and would have no problem finding employment in the much more demanding US market. On the other hand the other 2 are useless and can't even be counted upon to show up to fill a chair for 7 hours. the same can be said for those outside my immediate office, except the % of useless employees and managers rise quickly, while very few won't show up for at least 6-1/2 hours a day.
Will SA follow the surplus policy or will it be reduced? There are many who would welcome surplus.
agreed... most people are not aware there has been significant saudiazation over the years... and that expats --- depending on business line-- are rarely the majority. JHAH is perhaps one exception.. but thats not Aramco anymore.
