Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

Let me break it down for tou

Businesses are successful because of people. You need to effectively match skill-set and position. Out of the gate, Hawn had Josh Susser and Heidi Johnson driving the organization and that was a disaster. Josh continues to prove his incompetence in marketing and I am not sure if they sent Heidi back to what she was doing or if Hawn flushed that arrogant turd. Next, Hawn hires Troy and Mike - need I Say another word. Then he promotes Kim dean to Admissions V P - yep, Admissions. How is that working out. Community outreach to the rescu - really? Nobody supports the idea, but we need to pretend like we do or else. Community outreach is failing and will continue to fail. However, Kim has a plan. Get rid of everyone and anyone who had a clue when it comes to admissions and put on Jill Cochran and Kieth Butkhalter. So now we have an operations person and a high school presenter running admissions - that should save us all. Kim did such a good job of missing every budget in admissions that Hawn promoted her over operations and now the RVPOs have become jet bitches. Either you agree with Kim or you go and they know it. Long story short, it is just a matter of when the board pulls the plug on this mess. Yet we are like cows being led to slaughter. We can see what is happening and do not want to believe it will happen to us.

You are correct that businesses are successful because of people, but these people need to be working a good business plan. If you leave the good business plan out of the equation you are just left with a HR problem. Dave Hawn has failed on two counts - lousy business plan and putting lousy people to run his lousy business plan. It is only a matter of time before Zenith fails totally. I'm sure that there are good people hoping that working hard will save the company. That attitude is commendable but only if they are working a good business plan hard. The current Zenith business plan is lousy. Please continue to work hard for Zenith and work hard finding a better job with a brighter future. Believe me a better job with a better company is out there.

Zenith was doomed to failure from the beginning. This is a company put together by ECMC and the Federal Department of Education to save the politicians involved with destroying CCi. As stated by many people last December when the deal was announced ECMC had no experience in operating an education company nor did it have the management team to make it work. We have seen first hand since February that those assumptions were correct. The continuous changing of leadership has been disastrous to say the least, not to mention how many great people have had their lives turned upside down because of the snap decisions made by a few in leadership that are no longer employed. No one on the ground has any idea what to do because the mission gets changed every few months with the changes of our leaders. With so many changes it's left us feeling like we're all in an Abbott and Costello skit asking "who's on first, what's on second". It's beginning to look like all the naysayers were correct from the beginning when they said ECMC has no clue in what they're doing. The student population continues to decline and the enrollment numbers continue to show very little or no improvement. I wonder who's next in line these people fail to improve enrollment?
