Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

To the lifeboats

Lee spoke at the HR town hall. He congratulated HR on being "a high performance team" and listed first and foremost their successful execution of the new performance management system. While any sane person would let the shell-shocked survivors have a pass this year, he was getting HR all hopped up for the second round.

I could not believe it either. I do not think the Board is paying any attention, and we should all take Lee at his word. Either this is a "leadership team" you want to follow or it is time to rev up the engine on self-driven career development or whatever Sarah Smith called it and find a new job. I grieve for the company and culture we used to have, but that company and culture are gone. Now it's time to move on.

Happy Thanksgiving. Be good to each other and forward job postings to your co-workers when you see one that is a fit for someone.

Looks like lemmings about to go over the cliff as HR leads the way.

I need "a high performance team" pulling on my stick shift. Troubles? What troubles? I just feel the slippery rub of enthusiasm as headcount decreases and stock prices temporarily increase. It'll soon be time to cash in some more of those stock grants. Daddy needs a new(er) ride.
