Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Cost cutting have other better ways..

cost cutting can be done in many ways..

It can be food, transport and a lot more.. what is the point of kicking loyal asses? Tha is not the way of running company. Ever heard Microsoft or IBM laying off employees for cost cutting????

Whats wrong with the management. I guess for lay-off purpose sack management and appointment some deserving ones..

Looking at your reference to "food and transport", I'm assuming that you are in Bangalore :-) IBM does layoffs everywhere (including Bangalore too). Few years back, the entire test team of a company I worked for were "bought" by IBM just to be laid off en-mass few months later. Microsoft had some engineering team that got completely laid off around 2011 in Bangalore (some of the engineers were given option to move to Hyderabad office and rest were laid off). So, as @3410 said, " young minds who think they are the ones discovering the world for the first time".. Layoffs are as common in Citrix as other companies and slowly becoming as common in Bangalore as in US :-)

@Anonymous203421 - exactly. IBM pretty much invented the mass head chopping. South Florida used to have a tech industry, but it truly got crippled when IBM dumped 10K people into the SoFla streets. It wasn't just the business within IBM. There was an entire ecosystem, from support companies to contractors all the way down to cleaning ladies. All that got yanked, like castration by pulling with a single, violent yanking movement. To pretend this only occurs in Citrix, that's just bullshit. It's been part of the course for the last 2 decades. Anyone worth a damn in this industry should have been paying attention and had a plan A, B and C already in place.

IBM invented the personal computer in Boca then laid of almost 10,000 people in the mid-late 90s. They singlehandedly destroyed the tech sector in SE Florida. Everyone has been hobbling along since.
