Do you know if severance payment in US differs from the one we have in Canada?

Anonymous203836,

I suggest you reread the Alberta Labour Laws. There is nothing close to 16 weeks of severance required, and it's based on your length of service with the company.

Is there any code for severance pay for contractors in Canada? Contractors (IHC) only got 2 weeks severance pay...

They do not have to pay you anything in the States. Canada has this prescribed by code

Not sure. Canada will at least require a minimum of 16 weeks per labor code on top of severance.
