Thread regarding TransCanada Corp. layoffs

Transcanada is stuck in the 60's...

My girlfriend is likely going to be affected. She was told to stay at their desk from Wednesday to Friday. But she's also so fed up with the work environment there that it's a bit of a blessing. I get to hear all about the internal environment there. And I seriously don't understand that company. Taking initiative, trying to improve company processes, trying to establish processes for better efficiency, improving communication between departments rather than compartmentalizing them.... all frowned upon. it's like the entire corporate structure is stuck in the 60's...

A simple decision needs a committee to analyze it, meet a few times, analyze it, build a consensus, analyze more, pre-sales, negotiation, political maneuvering, so, after 40 days of all of this nothing happens and that decision is still to be made
