Seems it has started in the OKC office.

Sounds like HR made a well thought out decision to reinstate this employee's tenure. Well played HR! As for the employee, sounds like they made the well thought out decision to get out. Well played employee! As for the 18 year old, sounds like they have the tenacity and skills to get ahead without relying on a degree. You should have taken notes while you could.
Leaving or getting let go will end up being the best thing that could ever happen to you. And if its not, you should do some soul searching and look at the big picture. Who honestly wants to work for this regime?
Bout time you quit working dad.
nothappy how does this effect you? Are you even in GSC? I am sure this is not an isolated situation. This could have been due to a unique skill set that was required. Who is this 18 year old you speak about?
there was one in GP that retired from Marathon with full benefits hired back in 6 months or so as a consultant then rehired as a regular employee and now they say he retired again this year with the layoff. What is that all about... And the 18 year old that was promoted and promoted without any education is still working there....... Sure they are a fair employer.....
Global Supply Chain (GP) - I believe there were five retirements and five terminations (Houston), and one termination (OKC).
Officially done with involuntary
How many in Global Procurement?
cody... we lost 6
INDICATE YOUR LOCATION HERE - I AM IN OKC
its over
"Marathon way now" - it was not always like this
I was a 1 that got laid off in February. Believe me when I say that life outside of Marathon is so much better. Good luck to all of those employees and their families that got hit today. Pretty shady to do it right before the holidays. But that's the Marathon way now.
Has anybody/any group NOT gotten an all clear? My group has...just curious.
The only people who will struggle the most are the landmen, G&G and Engineering staff.. They are too specialized.. In this current economy which is still very strong.. HR, IT, accounting and other support groups will find jobs easily on the market.
I pray for all those who were impacted by the layoffs today and their families and I also pray for those who were fortunate to remain employed; I pray the economy turns around and Round 4 will not be necessary in February 2016.
Nouting new.. just keep walking along.. 1's and 2's were cut as early as the first round.. In the first round the highest and lowest paid and a random median person would have been chosen regardless of performance.. unless you were a clear 4..
I'm just scratching my head here. What I observed in the Tower was: 1) older people close to retirement being retained over competent professionals doing the same job just as well and with 10-20 years remaining to add value to the company; 2) The handful of people who know were let go were all 1s and 2s last year and not yet rated this year (stand out achievement cards not to be filled out until the 30th) but who certainly were not going to be 3s or 4s; 3) Those of us left remaining scratching their heads wondering what brilliant people made the decision to let some highly competent people go over complete idiots who are a waste of space. Anyway, no one consulted me or the people I work with, as we lost two of the best people I have EVER worked with over two with shitty attitudes who add little - or no - value. Congratulations HR - you really screwed up.
Who in OKC?
Final : 14 involuntary and 4 voluntary. They are through here
The goon squad got me far away from the office. Glad IAH is closed so I can't get home. Best of luck to anyone remaining.
Where are they now?
I am so glad that I got laid off in 1991 and found a career in consulting (almost 24 years now of gainful work without having my life controlled by capricious idiots in management, just economics). Best of luck to all of you and realize that the sooner you get laid off from a major oil company in your career, the better the rest of your life will turn out.
Goon squad took a lunch break and is back at it. Still hungry for your soul.
Yeah some big time movements here, Anonymous202113. I just took a huge dook! Nearly clogged the toilet! Hello standout achievement card!!!
Saw someone stumbling around looking for their missing arm amidst the chaos
Has anything happened after lunch?
Enjoy your holidays Mr. Tilman and friends. Thank you for screwing the people who got you to where you are.
Any F&A update?
I haven't heard anything about Marketing. But I have heard that HES, Reliability, and Law have already been hit.
Thank you so much for our work. May your children be just as appreciated and fairly treated.
Any word on Marketing, Law, Engineering, or HES?
Any word on Global Procurement?
The graphics department just got obliterated
Where are they now...it's lunch time and beginning to flood!
Louise is cute
42 so far in tower
The person who started this thread will surely list this on their standout achievement card: "Crowdsourced layoff communication using a social media platform".
Are they still on 34 ... we're next, I guess -- seems they are working their way down.
I think Anonymous202034 meant 'Louise' ... silly rabbit!
