Let's keep bringing those visionary exJCP people to Fossil. Oh wait, isn't JcPenney stock is under 9 dollar. They are so knowledgable in bringing a company down.
To hell with the theory that apply killed Fossil. No one is able to kill Fossil except the brilliant new team of management itselfs. The most stupid thing is the so called "exciting news" to acquire Misfit and the new leadership announcement. It absolutely tells how badly all judgements are made in the organization from top level.
Apple IS killing them. As well as the outsourcing IT debacle. And $hitty management. And bad acquisitions (zodiac = how to turn a high end Swiss brand into 50 look alike watches for $750. Skagen = how to spend $80million for Danish design when in actuality it's so that you own a factory that makes extremely thin watch movements while not realizing that within a year everyone's going to want a smart watch. Or misfit = how to spend $260million + EXPENSES for a third fiddle wearable most people have never heard of, never seen, only does one thing and the reviews are so-so).
It wasn't Apple, it was forgetting who they were. They started making crap, and they jettisoned people who were passionate. That's what happens.
Quality of Fossil watches has gone done since they outsourced overseas to China and India. I guess we need to include Vietnam.
Every single person I personally know has a fashion watch and not a tech watch. Two people I know bought Fossil watches in the last year and will never buy again because the strap keeps breaking on one and the glass keeps getting dogged on the other. This doesn't happen to companies that make quality products
Sucky people, outsourcing and products that turned into dollar store crap killed fossil. Don't blame apple or the weak dollar.
