I work in L48 and have been with BP for 25 yrs, one a typical day I spend couple hours in the cafe sipping coffee and chatting about the oil prices, I only go to the cafe when I am bored surfing the net and watching cute cat videos. I then take my regular walk around the office chatting with folks and pretending to be overloaded with work. Take 2 hour lunch breaks that include running and gym time. I attend some meeting if I have any and surf on my phone and stay awake. I have done this all my time 19 yrs and have survived/thrived, have been rated very well as I keep my bosses happy. I am near retirement and finally worried about loosing my job. I don't know what I will do if I don't have any place like work to come to.

You possess the very skills that are needed to survive in this industry. I'm sure you will be fine. ;)
Don't worry about it. You are fully qualified to keep your job. Keep doing what you've been doing all these years nod you even get a promotion. BP needs and wants more people like you.
First of all, the word is "losing," not "loosing." Your inconsistency in your story (19 years or 25 years) says that this OP is either an idiot, or just fabricated this story of sloth behavior in the workplace, or both.
Maybe you should learn how to spell and you wouldn't "lose your job not loose duh!
actually I think they're referring to Ira. she has no idea what she is doing and couldn't tell a hammer apart from a wrench. I think her only marketable skill is office politics
I'm confused, first she says she's been with BP for 25 years, then says "I have done this all my time for 19 years". Does that mean she worked for the first six years (i.e. had a different routine the first six years, although she says "all my time?"
Are you married to one of the managers? That helps. I remember a female geologist who lost all her thesis documents and could never turn in her masters degree. When they told her she needed to provide documentation or they would have to let her go, she married the division engineer.
Welcome to the real world honey, the privileged life for you may be over for you very very soon. Sorry you didn't look at brushing up on skills earlier. Amazon Customer Service is hiring.....................
"Stay awake"....??? Would that go on a resume ? It sounds impressive....
very funny. I know who you are talking about. She is under 30. and knows nothing other than to run to her appointments. She is a joke. I hope she goes back to where she came from but the man she is having an emotional affair with , wont let her. She better thank God he has been her boss because she is highly over rated.
Haha, I think that's part of the required job skills in Ops. Sounds like a lot of employees I know.
same here. we should start a group/network
