Word is the final decision will be in December. From what I hear, FTC is leaning towards approval if parts of OD BtoB contract sales are omitted from the sale and sold to other parties. Staples is aggressively trying to shed managers by attrition. Harassing them or digging up dirt until they have grounds for termination, and not replacing vacant positions. This tactic avoids paying out severance and in some cases UI. They are also attempting to block UI benefits like they are making up for lost time. Used to be they never disputed UI benefits unless the terminated was for theft. The reason for this is to absorb some of the OD staff (at a lower salary/wage of course) and avoid severance for them. Then they will proceed with the harassment and terminations as needed to avoid severance and UI benefits as they close stores.

It's not a merger it's a BUYOUT and OD/OM will no longer exist after it happens. It is being done to eliminate competition. PERIOD!!
