Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

Love working at Zenith

Too much negativity out there. I think it is all centered on a small group of prior employees that realize they have missed out on an opportunity to work for a great company. A company that has taken on the HUGE task of turning around a distressed career college. A company that is making strides, hiring the right leaders, right sizing the company, interacting in the community and investing in the future. Do not be haters -- you can reapply. There is always hope for you.

592 - "Lots of good things going on". I must not be paying attention. Can you please point out just a few of those good things?

Many campuses won't survive 6 more months let alone 2 more years. There may be around 30 schools that survive by next summer which is what the original plan was. I agree, the public doesn't know the difference between CCi and Zenith Education Group, they only know that Everest and WyoTech are the schools that were in trouble.

592 - How can we begin to "correct the CCI brand disaster" when we have have the same name on the buildings? To prospective students the brand was not CCI, it was (and is) Everest and Wyotech. Two plus years? What has Zenith done in 8 months to positively impact enrollment? (trick question - enrollment is tanking so the only answer is "nothing"). The company has missed two payrolls in six weeks. With declining enrollment, many campuses will be lucky to survive for two quarters, let alone two years. The plan remains to wind down operations in an orderly manner (teach-outs soon....) to maintain student loan repayment liability (which feeds ECMC's core business) and eliminate a predatory school with out leaving DOE on the hook for loan forgiveness.

Lots of good things going on. There are many projects underway to course correct the CCi brand disaster. It will take 2 plus years -- but the ship will be heading north. Greatly appreciate the Zenith leadership.

570 the expenses are so huge they don't have enough money to pay their employees. Transferring funds from ECMC to the overdrawn Zenith account to make payroll. What a joke of a company.

When it was Corinthian we never had any employee appreciation. At least not since about 2010. After working for these companies for so long you forget what it is like to be appreciated. You also forget to have fun in the workplace. Our campus never celebrates anything employee based... No birthdays recognized...or anniversary dates. This is truly a terrible company to work for.

Still love working for Zenith when YOU DON'T GET PAID? Yet another pay day that there is no pay....is that the GREAT COMPANY you are talking about? Is the task that they have taken on so HUGE that they can't even pay their employees? Unreal!!

OP: You must be kidding. The company is making strides? Interacting with the community? Yes they are making strides towards closing. The only interaction this company has with the community is collecting money from unsuspected homeless people. They also interact with the VA office. They collect a lot of money from our veterans who are expecting to get an education. Good luck with that.

Enrollment numbers dropping, is that what you call the right direction? Employees stressed out waiting for the next RIF, maybe that's what you call the right direction. More RIFs and teach outs coming, is this what you perceive as the right direction. What they should have done from the beginning was close half the schools and renamed the ones they were keeping open. It would have been easier to promote a new name than trying to resurrect the Everest and Wyotech names from the dead.

This was a good company before it became the shit show it currently is. Cci was run to the ground by a greedy CEO who cared more about the investors than the students education. Management or lack there of does not have a clue how to run a school or manage employees . Good at screwing them, literally and figuratively. Online is a scam and an Everest degree isn't worth the paper it is printed on. If the department of ed. Was smart or is smart they will or continue to shut this shit show down. For those layed off .. move the f*** on. For those of you riding it out , kudos, take care of you and yours. Zenith is following CCI's model because they know no different. They will continue to screw the poor, vets and any breathing human until the doors close. Please don't bother being a grammar Nazi everyone knows how to spell and form a sentence. Spelling and grammar should be the least of your concerns.

Ok 294, you seem to enjoy calling people disgruntled ex employees. I don't know how long you've worked for Zenith and CCi nor do I care. When you've worked over 15 years at a place where you really enjoyed what you did for the students and have that all taken away in a moment's notice, you do become angry. Especially when someone that didn't even know you or even met you decided you were among the ones that were no longer needed. When you see employees that have a lot less time with the school and others that are on a pip or corrective action notice keeping their jobs, you become angry. When you are only 5 years away from retirement and your life is turned upside down, you become angry. When you now have to spend half of your unemployment compensation on lousy Obama Care health insurance that barely covers anything, you become angry. It's not like they took anything other than money into consideration on who was chosen for the RIF, because I seen many great coworkers let go, not just me, you become angry. So, when it happens to you, let's see how happy and cheerful you are. Go ahead and call us disgruntled ex employees if it makes you feel better, I'd rather be called what I truly am, one of over a thousand angry ex employees.

294: People have negative comments because they work in a negative and brutal environment. Employees of this shit don't know when their last day will be. The company lets go good people without any warning or cause. In my school we learn to collect the check and apply on company's time. This is the best way to show we don't give a shit either.

The negative replies to this post were immediate and expected. How dare anyone say anything good about the company or what we do. Worse than the disgruntled former employee who hates the company, is the one who is still employed and hates it, their job, and who's only in it for the check. What a cowardly, hypocritical, POS wipe you are.

Can't be far from the truth. Zenith didn't screw this up, Corinithian did. Instead of all the bashing and name calling, try to refocus your energy on building and trying to encourage. If that's too hard, then go work somewhere else, no one is holding a gun to your head forcing you to stay.
