Thread regarding Zenith Education Group layoffs

Last six weeks of the year for WyoTech

We're starting the last six week phase for this year. I believe we'll be OK here in Laramie but no one's saying anything about Daytona and Blairsville. All I've heard has been a few rumors but nothing serious. I know the numbers are low here and I hear they are lower in Blairsville and enrollment numbers for January are real low. By what I've heard Laramie and Blairsville will be under 300 student population each. Things aren't looking good for WyoTech.

FYI, the Laramie campus was budgeted to lose 1.5 million on students this year, but isn't it funny they were still ahead 1.5 million? I guess that hadn't come out. Watch your back people, some of the people you're hating on at least knew something about education. I would start worrying about some of the big companies that have contracts with

Wyotech they signed the contracts because of some of the past employees and are not real impressed with the current status quo. At least the Blairsville campus has trusted

employees, you sure cant say that about the Laramie campus.

969, and everything they have told you up to this point has been nothing but the truth. Sorry to burst your bubble but Blairsville will be consolidated into Laramie.

Really? With a student population of 310 and projected to be well under 300 come January, does that look like a strong future to anyone else?

I feel relatively hopeful. The new VP visited here (Blairsville) and spent time with most of us and assured us that none of the WyoTechs are looking to be closed and that our future is strong.

845 you are correct. Since GG started with CCi he was clueless and still is. I have seen his "performance" in all these years and it is terrible. It truly is a mystery how he has survived all these years.

845, we've heard that before. I know WyoTech is in deep trouble and probably the only way to rebuild the reputation is to consolidate and focus on one campus. But, are they really going to do it or will they decide to continue to limp along trying to rebuild both campuses until it's too late and they both close? It's been posted on here many times about consolidating WyoTech but until I see it happen I have a hard time believing it.

When Everest concluded its hostile takeover of WyoTech and assigned Gary G and his clones Troy, Cassie and Jill to lead admissions and marketing it put the final nail in the WyoTech coffin. There is no turning back with these idiots its over and it has been. Their lack of an admission plan or one that constantly changes has only spelled confusion and no vision for the schools. It's so pathetic and sad that these people have been saved from RIF after RIF and protected by Everest higher leadership only to drive another school into the ground.

The rumors will become truth very soon about the consolidation and Daytona closing. Laramie will survive with the option of Blairsville students finishing their education there but Daytona will close in January. I will have the emails which I will post on here to prove this to the doubters within a couple weeks.

Anyone hear of what the enrollment numbers look like for January? We've always been kept informed of what the numbers were looking like for the next start, but it's been very quiet about January. They haven't said anything about January start numbers and won't answer when asked. Seems a bit disheartening to me.

Agreed, I started with WyoTech before CCi bought it. There were waiting lists to gget into the school. The problem I see is there are way too many automotive schools for the students that want to enroll. As the years roll on less and less people want to get into the automotive industry. As the cars and trucks get more and more technical there are less people working on their own vehicles and the younger generation isn't exposed to it like years ago when junior helped his dad work on the family car.The youth just are not interested in working on cars.

When CCi purchased WyoTech, it was a monster school with a great reputation. So sad to see it go down.

Maybe Zenith will sell it to someone who can turn it around.

Thanks for your replies of concern. I'm not convinced that WyoTech can rebuild the image it had 10 years ago. I still continue to hear talk of consolidating Blairsville and Laramie campuses into just one campus in Laramie. Not sure if it's just rumors or if there is any truth to it. Both campuses are about as lean on employees as they can be.I can't see there being any more RIFs without closing a campus. Well I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best while I continue to search for other opportunities.

Wyotech should be okay, based upon the various agreements with major companies, to provide training expertise and employment opportunities for their students.

This is such a sad story. Unfortunately, Hawn is not any better than Jack and his crooks. It is so sad to see so many people lose their jobs and more people are about to so soon.
