This was all over the news, I'll sum it up here - last time we did cuts we were hit big time with a huge lump sum payment in severance. I think this round is going to be even bigger. last time the severance payments exceeded the profits, so it did hurt. So, they decided not to provide 2 week of severance pay for every year you served, instead you'll get one week, and this is not cool. I think that they will stagger cuts throughout 2016 and that every new group of people to be laid off by Sprint will be getting less and less of severance - this may be just my prediction but we'll see how things will pan out.

If you get laid off before feb 1st you still get the 2 weeks for every year amd the 1k lump sum. Bet they wait till after feb 1st
Now Marcelo is going to be able to purchase another supercar
Yeah, but they will be keeping executive bonuses, they will go up in fact. So, less for us, more for them, same old story
Sorry to hear this - saw this link on VZ's board - here is how we handle it now (we may be cutting it down to 1 week too): https://www.thelayoff.com/verizon-communications/post/5842396078145536

They took away that 1K lump payment as well. Judging based on how the execs think and behave, they may as well discountinue severance payments all together. What's the point
