Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

I just went to chk.com. Looked through all categories of jobs and there are 0 jobs available, period.

I left chk several years ago, but am still a stockholder. As a stockholder, I'm thinking that they darn well better keep enough people to maintain all the servers, databases, legal and regulatory going!

Sarcasm in text is a sure sign of a lack of intelligence. Note - I did NOT say that the inability to detect sarcasm shows a lack of intelligence, the actual use of sarcasm in text shows a lack of intelligence. Why? Because sarcasm is a subtle form of humor requiring either additional input (in the from facial expressions, tone of voice, previous conversational history with the person, etc.) OR a predisposition to seeing everything in text as sarcasm. When someone claims that sarcasm is obvious in text what they're really saying is that it's obvious TO THEM because A) they've never analyzed what truly composes sarcasm and B) they're predisposed to seeing everything as sarcastic so as not to be embarrassed - this is also usually accompanied by a sense of elitism and/or "insider's knowledge". Sarcasm is also a stupid form of communication because it shows a lack of balls - in order to say something important, you have to be sarcastic to say it instead of just having the balls to say what you mean to the person's face. This is also accompanied with a smug belief that they've "fooled the other with their brilliant use of sarcasm which went undetected" yet the other person is simply thinking "Really? This idiot thinks I'm too stupid to catch onto their jokes? What a dumbs - it's so obvious." Conclusion - don't use sarcasm ever unless you want to be perceived as a complete f***ing idiot...no you're not clever, you're obvious and ridiculous.

My advice is to sell what you have left. Holding CHK stock is like holding a turd in your hand. The stock and the company are doomed to fail due to gross mismanagement than began under AKM and continues under Dick Drainer Doug.

I see people are not picking up on the rather obvious sarcasm in that post.

It's a public company - anyone can buy stock off the public market at any time, even ex employees.

Yeah, and if you used to work at Chesapeake but now you don't, it would be impossible to own any substantial stock. Once you quit, you're not allowed to buy stock anymore. Little known fact. That's why Bill Gates hardly owns any Microsoft stock anymore, similar policy there.

Wow, some impressive detective work by AKM. "You're likely an ex CHKer...."

Did you arrive at that bold position before or after the first sentence said "I left CHK several years ago"?

Nobody gives a shit if you're a stockholder - your opinions don't matter because you're likely an ex-CHKer so your percentage of ownership is smaller than a gnats ass. So guess what? You don't matter. Buy more stock so your voice matters - or don't and stay irrelevant.
