Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

Last Wednesday of the Month

Tomorrow is the last Wednesday of the month (SSBs preferred layoff day) and the earnings report was sent out Friday. My first thought was layoffs are coming tomorrow. Received confirmation today. Although this probably won't be in the news, like most layoffs at State Street. They will keep the layoff numbers just low enough so that they won't have to tell their shareholders. As an employee, I have no clue how we can continue to lay people off. Many expensive mistakes are being made due to too many layoffs and not enough people left to do the work.

As a former employee I agree with you. I could never understand how they could justify the continual layoffs when you were already expected to work at least 40 hours in the office and also work from home. I can recall that most employees were already working 50-60 hours a week at least. I am just thankful that I left when I had a chance and work for a company where I feel appreciated.
