I have been a loyal employee (CSR) since the pre NCR days and have been happy here for the most part. Teradata has always taken good care of me despite that fact that they pay less then their competitors I have been ok with this because of the work/life balance and the ability to work from home and more or less set my own schedule. There are many very talented people in CS (a ton of dead weight too) that in large part keep the business running.. Without people like us the whole ship would sink. In the event of a buyout what impact do you think it would have on the CS organization.. As i said, there are many bright individuals that have been around for years.. it would be a shame to lose any of these folks... Agustin, Nelson, Evans, Zorn, Swanson, King, Boltjes, Reeves,Mclernon,Bell to name just a few..

I agree with not posting names. That said, I worked for Teradata many years ago and know the individuals who are named. They are all stellar, top-notch performers and I owe much of what I know to these people. It is sad to think they are facing this situation now.
Names also show up in searches, I would bet you would not want to have your name show up in a random thread on a random site
I would not be posting names here. I know that you have good intentions, but what happens here often is that there will be someone who disagrees with you and they would be like - "hey John Doe is not a superstar, he's incompetent, etc." - You see where I am going with this, it's a slippery slope. People complain, write to admins, and posts get deleted. Just saying...
That is true it's dependent on the growth area of the DWH... But, how @ all the comments of offshore aspects like it has been previously outsourced on /off over the years.?
Like any area, the idea would be to get rid of the dead weight individuals and keep the talented ones...
But, haven't heard @ too many layoffs in CSR area... some re-orgs/shifting...
CSR is intimately tied in with the Teradata Data Warehouse.
So the fate of CS is entirely dependent on if the new/current owners of Teradata think that the DWH component of the company is a growth market.
From all indications it looks like this is not the case. It will not die overnight however it is never going to be a growth market again.
Make of that whatever you will.
