They need a major restructure, it is likely we will know soon if that is possible.

all of the above.

the CEO, the level of management after that, only telling what people like to hear.

and lastly the useless HR with different tactic to get ride of people during this period of time. that's totally not professional. that's cheating.

Well, I worked for CGG and am no longer there. I can say for sure that the management seems to have a very different view and understanding to the worker bees. The management do not tolerate any form of dissent from the lower levels. Chances are you will be disposed off in some clever manner. Result is a layer of yes-men who tell the management what they really want to hear at the same time protecting their own backsides and climbing the corporate ladder. If the senior management build an environment of this type then the company is unlikely to survive. The merger with Veritas was done for the acquisition of Veritas's vessels and control of processing was handed over to the ex-Veritas management, resulting in many good ex-CGG people being kicked out or forced to leave knowing they had no future in the new company. CGG will not survive this oil downturn. Most of the old/current VPs and SVPs will not be losing their jobs but the capable technical people will. The company doesn't really care. They expect to hire new students out of university and rebuild later. Good luck to them...

Get rid of CEO, his expenditure on Fugro was ill timed!

Yes, that wasn't very clever. You would have thought they would have learned their lessons when they bought out Wavefield. The problem is these idiots think they are financial geniuses when oil is > $100 a barrel. I'm surprised that the banks and stock holders aren't baying for Malcors resignation..... no doubt when he does go he will get a nice golden parachute (when what he really deserves is golden shower).

Don't think CGG will be around in it's current form by the end of 2016, unless something dramatic happens with the price of oil. (Dear President Putin, any chance you could start bombing Saudi Arabia? )

Depends on how soon they can get rid of incompetent management.
