Shell Bangalore plans to further downsize by a large number. The whole process of downsizing is without due consideration for peoples ability or capabilities. The last downsizing which happened in Aug 2015 indicated that even very good performers were fired. If a company can't even evaluate its staff properly then no one will want to work there. Lets see what happens in the Jan-Feb 2016 Round of firing.

Bangalore is an inside joke in the Shell world. All the decisions and good jobs are in the UK and NL.
Everyone I know who was sacked in years past from shell in low oil price times, has ended up with good jobs, good salaries, and ended up happier having escaped the shell world. Message is try not to worry, take redundancy in a professional manner, don't get bitter and twisted, and just get back into employment if you need the salary. Stay positive above all, and keep working hard - your name and reputation will then secure you a good future.
Shell, thank you for laying me off. I'm now employed again and making more than I did when I was a Shell. My incompetent supervisor over westhollow kept me oppressed....two-faced manager! Can't blame Shell, I blame the unsupervised managers that run the club and protect each other. bad for business. All I hear outside of Shell is negative from ppl I don't eve know.
My name is Month and I will decide on which month all contractors and shell employees must be fired. All extra employees of Shell will be removed during Feb 2016 as decided by top management and also all contractors will be removed from ACCENTURE,IBM,WIPRO will be fired without any notice. All full timers will be removed with a 10-30 day notice period.Therefore guys start looking for jobs immediately as shell will be firing more then 30,000 jobs during 1st Quarter of 2016 and another 25,000 during 2nd and 3rd Quarter of 2016 as it purchased BG Oil -A British Oil Company with more then 51 Billions in $ Cash and now the oil will stick to its 13 years low to less then 30$ a Barrel and even in Shell Canada the one barrel of oil is cheaper then 5 Cauliflower's.The Canada has faced more then 50,000 job cuts of all energy/oil companies.The oil will never go above 39 till end of 2017 and slowly it may increase between 40-45 during 2018 and 2019.Therefore shell will fire all employees except the top management during Jan to April of 2016.
Good that Shell Oil has fired very excellent performers since the contractors or full timers are no longer needed for shell and why the Shell company needs to retain such employees.It is very good that the Shell has fired all under performed employees at Bangalore. Now it will remove all contractors of Accenture,IBM and Wipro whoever are working at One Shell Plaza and Two Shell Plaza and other offices located in Houston,Texas.Also it has plans to remove all contractors even in California Shell Office,Malaysia and other Asian locations of Shell. All full timers and especially contractors need to look for other jobs but looks like they rarely fit for other jobs since the work environment at shell is like a Government of India where people get huge salaries for not doing any work.
I was the ONLY one in my group doing 2 jobs, busting my butt off. Many complements I received. My boss lay me off and no one else.
All other members in my team went back in time with my boss and socialized with him. My only mistake at Shell was working too hard and not socializing with managers. That's what my boss said 'between the lines'. Shell is a joke of a company. Worst employer I've have in my entire long career!
I believe is going to be April second week by God grace.
How do you know it's not going to be March, April, May and June of 2016?
