I pass by it daily. Is BRCM really gonna use all of this campus or are there plans to lease part of it out ? Seems too big for an Avago division now. I also heard the rumor that Avago plans on changing the name to BRCM ?

They already scaled it back by not building out as many buildings. It won't be as lush as originally thought, but will still be a very nice campus. Broadcom already bought the land so the liability is already there. G&A will be reduced, maybe some engineering, but its financially viable to move out of Irvine Company property and self build
get real everyone. the new building is going to be used by Avgo, there will be layoffs, if your group is number 1 or 2 in market its a good thing if not you better show a lot of promise. IT will be gone except for a few, I don't care where you are. They trim the fat, if you are a small group located offsite you will be moved or they will close you. The layoff packages are good and they may keep you on for awhile. If you guys elected to trim the fat and be lean, instead of living off the past, you might not be being bought out now. This is not a bad thing for the ones they keep, I feel for the ones they let go.

Rumors? How stupidly slow can you be? The name change is official news along with the merger announcement back in May.
