Thread regarding FMC Technologies Inc. layoffs

Layoff this week

Nice to find this site. I'm not only one concerned. I heard layoff of 23 people in PA. Anyone have confirmations on this.

Rumor, recruit the best, train the best, retain the best , layoff the best, rehire the best friends

Restructuring in Erie of floor people lets combine classifications and repost them as new combined classifications and not let qualified people bid qualified instead let everyone bid training so we can keep senior non qualified people and let them train for the next two years

Correction to the last post, the sales and production types that accounted for recent record years in MS Erie are mostly still intact. Those of us who were responsible for what was to be a key growth area, that was ignorantly nixed shortly before launch - Tank Truck (while the rest of the business is sinking), are gone (I was laid off in May, and my Product Manager is now in production). You will evidently find some satisfaction in knowing the Accuload IV product team is next up on the chopping block. Another great call, nixing your bread and butter electronics offering. So I guess you are correct that the millions spent will never be recovered, but…that’s due to Big Art’s choice regarding who he let go, and when. And don’t get me started on the “re-org” of quality and now product marketing reporting to Engineering…brilliant. Some real short sided (poor) decisions being made, at a time FMC can't afford it (classic case of the old, cut the engines, when you're loosing altitude). Merry Christmas to you too!

Here's the story in Erie. All those responsible for making record shipment goals in 2012, 2013 and 2014 were let go. Those responsible for millions spent (money never to be recovered and written off as an inventory adjustment) on failed truck meter and Accu Load IV project still collecting a paycheck. Merry Christmas ....

I'm a casualty from Erie location. MS has suffered throughout this entire year, but now at an all time low. People being laid off across the disciplines yet the company is paying consultants to be on site to "streamline" throughput. I understand in addition to the 70+ office folks, there's to be a reduction of 38 more floor workers and a reduction to just one shift. Also, rumor has it that to "save" some of the select, after February they will post jobs and award to the desirables that were caught in the net of last week's layoff due to their job classifications. I have to ask, are those left behind really the lucky ones?

Was told Longview..aka Kilgore will remain open, but I did lose my job after returning from maternity leave :( I worked at the Kilgore office for MS, over 100 were laid off last Thursday with MS in Erie, Tulsa, Odessa, and Bakersfield.

Seems like less workers here. It's a ghost town in every department.

We were hit hard. Is going to be tough adapting. They are restructuring the business here. As for numbers left....I think around 200 for MS. But I may be wrong. Hard times especially with time of year. Nature of the beast I suppose.

How many folks are left at Erie? Didn't they already take a big hit before this round?

Such a downer at this time. I feel for all of you in Erie. Tx is gonna see the same with larger numbers in all departments. So sad. Try to enjoy holiday. Be safe all.

Heard something similar. Numbers vary. With this market, not gonna be a big surprise. They already let go of people in accounting to move operation to stephenville.
