The VP layoff is definitely the minority. How many have been laid off? I know of only one and he was a great guy. Really knowledgeable and did great work but unwilling to sacrifice his ethics for the boss. Either walk the line or leave. No room for independent thinkers here.

This is factually incorrect. VP's have indeed been laid off. Maybe not as many as you think it should be, but it's definitely not zero.
@ENZEVTh-2ghv STOP exaggerating and keep your emotions out of it. A few comments do not equal a "white hate" forum. I agree with the person who said learn how to read.
Learn to read: where did you see "white hate"? Concerns about underrepresentation doesn't mean hate. Your comment clearly shows your delusional ego and false assumptions that's anyone cares to be like you.
How did a topic of "to many VP's" turn into a white hate forum? Who's really the racist here...? White this, white that, blah, blah blah. What a straw man argument.
Stay on topic!!
Haha true! Hmmm I wonder why NOV has ONLY old, white and all male in upper management? No African-Americans. No Hispanics. No Asians. None other than OLD MALE CAUCAZOIDS. White mans superiority mixed in with fear, is why!
NOV senior management looks like the FIFA Board. Almost 100% exclusively old, white and male.
Unless you are a British or Scottish minority. Wait! They are not minorities are they? Americans are the minority at NOV in high up positions!! How many VPs are Lebanese, Scottish or English? I am guessing over half of rig and wellbore
Same sentiments here on African-Americans. I was poorly treated at NOV before I resigned a few months ago and it's even worse if you're a woman. Though I believe it's an issue with all minorities
The have no African Americans in high places at this company. No African American Engineering Managers, Directors, and VPs. They don't promote African Americans at NOV.
The numbers will grow. The next gen program is the main reason. They want all the Next Gens to become VP within their 10 years of their career. It stunts down the growth of those who worked tirelessly for years. waiting in the line in the hope of getting promoted. Meanwhile the Next Gens cut the lines and sneak in between, pushing the hierarchy chain way too deep. So many layers or managements, all their time are spent mostly on meetings, answering questions, asking questions, explaining things between and across the layers of managements etc...nothing really being contributed to the production outcome. If the company really wants to go Lean, it should seriously consider eliminating the middle-man roles.
It really started going downhill after Pete Miller left. He ran the company the old way and built a strong company. When he left, it was taken over by a bunch of suits who find the personal perks more important than maintaining a strong business. Titles for the sake of titles with not much to back them up.
Its being run into the ground by them, all of the experienced people who know what they are doing are leaving or being paid off, to many chiefs and not enough Indians comes to mind, however when it comes to the crunch the VP'S are super heroes who know everything about everything so will drag us out of the big hole we are digging as a company.
It doesn't seem to be working
323? Didn't know that!!
its because we need them to ensure the future success of our great company. Each and everyone is worth every cent we spend on them.
Indeed if you think you have the qualities to be one a VP give me a call, We are hiring
