The only problem is the commission is split 2-2 on it. There's a vacant seat that hasn't been filled by Obama yet. So, if the vote swings that way, they can't bring an injunction to stop it. Best case scenario is one of the two for the merger jumps to the other side. I don't know what happens if it comes to a split vote, does it proceed?
Probably on December 9th. Then they will likely gut store payroll and many departments as the new fiscal year starts. Ops managers in T1 and T2 - they know they can get sups to do that job at 1/2 to 2/3s the pay so be prepared after Jan 2nd. Any GMs making over $60k and AMs over $50k (+/- depending on region) will be harassed until they quit or put on PIPs. The goal will be to close stores and shed as much payroll as possible, and expect them to fight unemployment. Would really love to see Starboard go after Sargent and Smith, just to bad they have such hefty golden parachutes.
So when do the lay-offs start up again?
Hopefully the deal falls through and Ron gets ousted.
