If you know anyone that was let go, they received in a packet the locations, number of employees and ages of all whom were let go.

Some of the larger cities about half dozen came back to fleet because third party was not strong enough of handling the volume. Also sales in some if those larger cities dropped because customers did not want to deal with private delivery company.
Anonymous 184981 You are write to say it is better to make less than to work for a company that does not care about it's workers. As long as you live on less than you make you can make a choice like this and tell them to take there job. I know a lot of people don't do that so they have to take what they get to make it work for them and there families.
Anonymous184932 has it exactly right. Short of identifying exactly who the principals were who made that decision and seeing them being handed their walking papers, why bother going back? If those people are still in the same positions they were, then such foolish decisions can and will be made again in the future, and the outcome of this 3rd party outsourcing was easily foretold by plenty of boots on the ground employees who had either came to Staples from a 3rd party courier background or had to deal with 3rd party couriers as part of their function at Staples.
