Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

was at HP from 1987 til 2010 when another axe fell. I was promised I'd be ok only to learn my number was up. Employee 147xxx please exit stage

this nearly destroyed me, such a great culture turning sour. 24 years of service and then a phone call to say "today it's your turn... The valued principles of Bill and Dave had long gone.. With all my experience in Stirage over 24 years I was replaced with 3 "off shore" guys being paid peanuts knowing next to nothing and that's when HP's global exemplary customer service died....

Good luck to you poor people still slaving away waiting for the next cull...

OK, this is wrong. Some of the best employees I worked with were remote employees. Sorry.

I knew several employees who never bothered to work because they worked from home. No email responses. No meeting presence. No work done but they still got their checks. What a shit company hp is

i know an offshore people manager who barely reports to work. The person barely sees the offshore team and makes dozen of excuses for not being physically present in the office. Doesn't reply to emails when not in the office too. How do I know if they are really working? Well, good luck to our customers. I can't fathom why this behavior is tolerated there when we are all requested to go back to the office. They take our jobs away and then they don't really work. How is this person different from being a filthy thief?
