Is it true that there are some cuts planned for November of this year or January 2016? I am specifically referring to HP Enterprise layoffs, I know that other groups are going through layoffs right now and that there will be another wave soon. I've heard conflicting opinions so far, with some folks saying we are safe while others are claimng that the pipeline does not look good and that they (management) will move quickly and cut. HPE is struggling, so nothing can surprise me.

Yes November 9 will be black Monday for a lot of people. Some people have already inadvertently found out by applying for another job on the internal website and getting an error along the lines of "WFR employees are not allowed to apply for this job". True story.
@ripItup, at least they are getting the full severance package (1 wk pay for every year of service). The word is that the cuts in December will cut the package in half.
I'm curious, if they do a lot of layoffs Monday Nov. 9, they provide two weeks notice to you. Your last day would be Monday Nov. 23 (right before Thanksgiving). I'm assuming this would save HP by not having to pay out 2 holidays (Thanksgiving, Day After).
Nice HP, way to keep it classy.
Yes there are a large amount of cuts coming on Nov 9. There will be even more in December.
for all 3 replies to this post..... If you are sick of whining then I suggest you troll another site. I for one am concerned about layoffs for my group. They have hit various groups (and not just individuals). Those shipped off to Ciber for half their pay and no salaries, etc. Many of us are older and cannot easily find another job. No one wants an experienced resource, everyone wants cheap resources. It is sad that this is how business is these days. Capitalism at its worst. Many of us have given and sacrificed much for this company. Many long hours, many weekends, sacrificing our families and personal lives. That used to mean something to a company and it was rewarded. Now, it is just stupid for anyone to do that for a company.
So for those folks saying stop your whining and get to work. How about we have been doing that for many many years, so give us a freaking break!!! You are probably some big exec in HR anyway.
hahahah ("you shartstain mongling") - a good one
..... pleasant. 'Nobody's safe' followed by 'do your job and you'll be fine' is entirely contradictory. Why would you come to a site for people to discuss (and understandably vent) about layoffs/redundancies at HP, and then get cross when you find exactly that? The rest of the internet is that way >>> Off you pop, you shartstain mongling.
Nobody's safe buddy. Just do your job and you'll be fine. I am sick and tired of people whining. Just do your job and shut the f*** up
