Meanwhile, HP executives are partying in Europe while they tout their "Cloud 28+ Initiative" the day after they shut Helion down (and probably lay off the entire group) - with the lamest tag line ever - "It's anything but cloudy in Europe". I wonder if Meg played "The Final Countdown" as she prepared to issue the directive to kill Helion, which likely wasn't priced competitively anyway.

HP Helion public cloud never had a chance. It was a half assed effort, the program was full of staff and managers who really did not understand the cloud (nor had any experience with it). We are lucky they killed it. There is a few other smaller cloud initiatives we currently have

Cloud and IoT are doing fairly well, why layoffs, it makes no sense whatsoever. The growth is immense.

the message was that that is the area that hp is heavily investing in...
