Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

HP is an example of what happens when there is no union.

Since the days of Carly HP has been laying off workers most being in what they call high cost areas (United States). Labor laws in Europe and other high cost areas have protected the workforce in part from such layoffs. The United States have no such protections and without having the strength and backing of being unionized HP's US workforce is easy targets for mass layoffs and there is little anyone can do about it. Since Carly, HP and with the most recent announcement will have fired over 130,000 workers most being in the US. For those workers who wait to get the ax and even those who are safe (for now) the only action that remains is to go into a work slowdown,,mass sickout. For those who remain should show the powers to be the same loyalty and respect they have shown you. Keep in mind Meg cares about one thing, the shareholders. HP is a dead man walking and with all of the cuts and the brain drain along with outdated management from the top down. It's just a matter of time HP will be no more, but by then the shareholder will have got what they wanted and Meg will go off into the sunset with her multi million golden parachute leaving the HP worker bloody, wrecked and in the dust. SO the question remains to those workers are you going to make a stand or just role over and take it? I say do it to them before they can do it to you.

Not to burst your "Europe had it right with union workers " bubble but you are aware that HP have moved a lot of work from union friendly European countries to either Eastern Europe or Far east Asia right?
