Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

It's time we all stood up to HP's UNETHICAL TREATMENT

Like our US counterparts at Ciber, i think Adecco and Modis employees in Canada, the US, or wherever you are should also stand up to HP and their disgraceful practices! Make our voices heard, inform local and national news stations such as CBC that we too are facing unethical treatment by this company that claims they care about their employees. Or get ourselves a good lawyer and fight this thing tooth and nail. If we sit idly by, they will get away with this, now and in the future!

Let's face it folks, HP couldn't care less about us, the employees. Mind you, they don't seem to care much about the quality of service that will result from the massive WFRs either. Maybe it isn't us rank and file who need to go, but the upper management who lack any sort of creative vision, either for products or business direction....

@Anonymous156186 For one thing, speaking to Adecco, Ciber, or whoever your staffing company is going to work; we've tried that already. These companies are merely pawns in a vicious capitalist battle and really don't have control over anything because they simply provide the workers (contractors) and HP provides the contracts. True we work for them, but the salary they pay is what HP recommended your new salary should be so that they keep you in the same position, but for less money out of their pockets since you're not on they're payroll anymore. Personally I'd suggest getting a group of workers together; perhaps those in your department and hire a lawyer who specializes in these disputes to fight on your behalf. You could also try to get in contact with local news outlets, large networks, or perhaps journalists who can pick up our story and draw attention to these issues. Whether these possible solutions will work, i have no idea, but i would talk to your colleagues and see what they say.
