I was cut to Adecco. My hourly pay is to the penny the same. The benefits are the issue. I did not get paid for Labor Day since I am a new employee. I took of part of a day for a Doctor appointment without pay because I do not have PTO built up yet. Insurance costs more for less coverage - I went on my wife's plan. Less holidays (6 after 1000 hours), no vacation, a few more days PTO and higher insurance or medical costs or both. I do not see how the company can meet their service obligations. My guess is the the Global Service Delivery part of HPE will end up with another company and contract obligations are not the first priority.
One article written by softpedia says of those laid off from the company over the last few months and sent to Ciber and Adecco/Modis with a lot less pay: "The disgruntled employees made their case public, and after some media coverage, they were allowed to work at their new jobs with the same payroll they had at HP." Does anyone have more info on this, will this affect us in Canada too?

Shame the system itself is broken. The number of times I witnessed bad practices or the professional code of conduct broken in my department were too many to recount and when it got to the point where I had to do something about it (use of racist term by a - now retired with a nice early retirement package - employee in his 60s who missed "the good ol' days") I felt I was in an awkward position regardless of whether I reported it to my manager (who was best buddies with the offender) or used the automated online reporting service (They required my employee number) to report it because it would've been traced back to myself and my job would definitely be at risk.
The place is hopeless. Full of top-level managers who know nothing about computers nearing retirement age. Why bother standing up for a company that doesn't care? Unless you got shares then it's best to leave it be.
Wait a minute dude, I think people are still in shock. Everyone knew it was coming, I do not think folks were expecting that we'll see such a dramatic cut that digs so deep into the best fiber of HP. I've been on this board since August, I've seen more and more messages every day - it's just a matter of time when HP employees will start posting because I personally know there is so much pent up anger and frustration across the board. It's not only about layoffs and HP management blunders, there is a whole set of other issues that drive HP folks nuts. So, just wait, they will come.
