Shame, the HP system itself is broken. The number of times I witnessed bad practices or the professional code of conduct broken in my department were too many to recount and when it got to the point where I had to do something about it (use of racist term by a - now retired with a nice early retirement package - employee in his 60s who missed "the good ol' days") I felt I was in an awkward position regardless of whether I reported it to my manager (who was best buddies with the offender) or used the automated online reporting service (They required my employee number) to report it because it would've been traced back to myself and my job would definitely be at risk. The place is hopeless. Full of top-level managers who know nothing about computers nearing retirement age. Why bother standing up for a company that doesn't care? Unless you got shares then it's best to leave it be.

Company expenses during business trips were always exploited. Just got back from one last week and the project manager upgrades to the biggest suite, order high-end dishes, over-indulge in expensive alcoholic drinks and take taxi trips back to the hotel every night. And because the manager (and expense approver) is his friend from 20+ years ago, his expenses bill gets automatically approved without any questions. Considering the company isn't doing very well and people are losing their jobs, it's a little insulting that certain chosen employees and managers are extravagantly enjoying themselves abroad. Nice one HP.
This is so true. 11 year veteran here, consulting (most of the time). I gave up on wanting to improve things right about time when Meg joined. It's so bad right now, people have no clue
