If you take the number of HP employees that have been WFR'd their combined packages wouldn't even come close to what Meg would receive in her golden parachute. It has been reported that HP has been trying to find ways not to pay employees what they are due. For an example if you have vacation time on the books and your state doesn't have a law saying you must be paid for those days HP will not.

Carly Fiorina cut 30,000 jobs got fired and received 40 million in pay and stock.
Mark Hurd cut 15,200 jobs, cut pay and benefits for the non-management workforce, was fired and received 53 million.
Meg Whitman body count currently at 80,000...
