Well the protocol for layoffs is different than BAU.
HR has been told to process XXX number of people out the door.
No way to do it but "Come to our office at X o'clock."
HR has to keep things on schedule.
But don't worry: once the worker bees are trimmed, there's less for the HR bees to do, too...

Devon does send meeting requests for layoffs - I was laid off in April and received a "Mandatory meeting" request from an assistant in HR about 30-45 minutes before the meeting time.
Devon doesn't send meeting requests for layoffs. You might want to check your facts and stop stirring up worry and stress for people. Good grief!
