Thread regarding Western Union Co. layoffs

Western Union has a reputation for lots of different layoff phases that sometimes can be really big. Typically, folks do get a solid severance package that somewhat softens the blow and makes employees somewhat more willing to ride out the uncertainty that's associated with job cuts. Montvalle, NJ office staff (I work there) is always in fear of office closure and/or outsourcing, though complete closure seems to be very unlikely given the systems expertise that our folks have. Also, many workers really don't like the new open concept office layout in Englewood - here where even directors sit at open tables with the rest of the staff, there is no privacy for phone calls at all.
