Thread regarding CGG Veritas layoffs

CGG was a good company to work for until it got the Digicon / Veritas virus. Too bad, some good people, some not so. Retired now, thank you.

From what I can understand both CGG and Veritas were two perfectly good companies but when they merged something went horribly wrong. Bureaucracy became rampant, procedures changed by the week... acquisition and processing of seismic data became a secondary concern.

Most of the senior Veritas management are no longer there... they bailed out, made to leave or were fired. The incompetent French management are left in charge of steering a sinking a ship.

"Digicon / Veritas was a good company to work for until it got the CGG virus"...I think it's a little unfair & reductive to blame the Company's current woes & difficulties on one side or the other of the merger. Just a less than ideal fit, trying to make (two perfectly fine, seperate integers) 2+2 = 5 ( rather than the 3 it currently does)
