I was laid off this year from Devon, and for being there a pretty short period, I was given 3 months of severance, plus bonuses, and they vested all my stock. Honestly easy enough to get by a year on. So don't worry, getting laid off could be beneficial if you can find something else on the side to use as a stop-gap until oil prices come back.

Was NOT a termination

It was a termination, it was a role re-alignment. So yes they can vest stock on elimination of a role.

What department (s) got hit?
149977 That's an awesome outlook. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I sure there will be more buzz. 26 peoples got the boot today. More Thursday.
That is a positive outlook, however I'm not sure how many people can get by for a year on 3 months salary. Perhaps I am not quite in the same pay grade as yourself.
