Those are good jobs being lost at Shell's offshore operations in the CBD. About 700 jobs lost and probably more to come from not only at Shell but from others in the region. This city is losing its tax base. Shell also is a big underwriter for the Jazz & Heritage Festival. Who is going to fill the void if they pull out? Sad to see how this region was once moving forward with all of the great jobs in the oil and gas industry and now its all going away with nothing to replace those jobs.
