Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

Gutless Spineless Wimps

We're by and by large gutless, spineless, wimps, here at Shell, cattle being lead to slaughter without a whimper. On the other boards of chevron exxon BP etc their employees are blasting exec management here at Shell we thank them for leading us to ruin and go quietly. They are not kings and queens, they are incompetent scoundrels who have lead us to ruin and who we seem to think will somehow lead us out of ruin

Until Marvin and his buddies are fired there will be no meaningful improvement in Shell Oil. They have single handedly run SOC into the ground over the last 10 years. They can blame the Dutch all they want, the truth is that the US E&P leadership rewards underperformance, promotes inexperienced amateurs into management, and has made horrible investment decisions. When will the shareholders demand the ENTIRE US leadership be fired?

@ Anonymous147849, you sound like a HR mole on this board. Weak people like you make poor management at Shell continue to get worse if you can't call them out. They come here to read what we think of them. What are you even doing on this board??? I'd love to see if you'll have the same "civil and intelligent" views when you lose out.

No, that doesn't happen at Shell! That'd be absurd! Besides, have you seen the admins that work there??? Not the type you'd risk a six-figure job for.

There is truth to this, at Shell we are very much more a "Kingdom" (maybe represents our Royal origin?) and are bred not to challenge the rulers. But reality is we are going to take a bigger hit than all other big oils combined, send more people to the street, and the bottom line is that when BP gets through the Moncado mess, Chevron figures out how to execute an MCP (their only real down fall) and Exxon just kind of figures out who they are we will AGAIN be at the bottom of the barrel in cash returns. At least we don't get the direct inuendos of managers sleeping with admin on the company nickel because that doesn't happen at Shell, RIGHT??

Anonymous147849 : You illustrate @Nuff Said's point exactly. Shell values people like you -gutless, spineless, wimps.

Actually, it appears that the shell employees are a lot more civil and a lot more intelligent. They realize that a blasting executive management on an online forum does no one good. The decision to fire people has been made, and that is that. Bitching about it will not change a damn thing. It is just unfortunate that the dumbasses from the other companies have not realized that fact.

@ Nuff Said I agree with you. Check out the Chevron board and guys are sharing useful info and calling out bad management practices. I have worked for both companies and Shell is far worse than CVX but guys here are apparently cool with a f**ked up system.
